5 booked for fire at pharma firm

Navi Mumbai: The Mahad MIDC police have booked five persons, including a Mumbai-based owner and a partner of a pharmaceutical company Pradeep Shetye private Ltd, after fire broke out in its premises at 6pm on Wednesday. The fire that engulfed fibre items and polythene bags continued for six hours past midnight. As many as seven workers had a narrow escape. – Umesh K Parida

Gas leakage causes fire at pharma firm
A fire broke out in a pharmaceutical company in the Wagle estate area of Thane due to a leakage in a commercial hydrogen cylinder used for research and development. No injuries were reported. Fire officials and the regional disaster management cell responded to the incident, controlled the blaze, and seized the damaged cylinder for investigation.

22 escape unhurt as bus catches fire
A private luxury bus caught fire on the Mumbai-Goa highway in Mahad taluka, Raigad. The fire started after one of the rear tyres burst. Luckily, the 22 passengers on board were able to escape. An MIDC fire brigade team extinguished the fire.
